Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Introduction

At L'inno ("we," "our," or "us"), we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how Sheldon Sender collects, uses, and safeguards your information when you use our desktop application for payslip distribution.

Key Point: Sheldon Sender is designed with privacy-first principles. Your employee data and emails are processed locally on your computer and are never stored on our servers.

Information We Collect

Data Processed Locally (Not Sent to Us)

  • Employee Lists: CSV/Excel files containing employee names, IDs, and email addresses
  • Payslip PDFs: PDF files you upload for distribution
  • Email Content: Subject lines and body text of emails you compose
  • SMTP Credentials: Encrypted and stored locally on your device

Data We Receive

  • License Information: Email address used for license activation
  • Payment Information: Processed securely through Polar (we never see your card details)
  • Usage Statistics: Anonymous app usage metrics (email count, app version)

Google Account Data (Optional)

If you choose to sign in with Google to send payslips via Gmail or import salary data from Google Sheets, Sheldon Sender requests the following Google permissions. Sheldon Sender's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements: this data is used only for the features described below, is processed locally on your device, is never sold, is never used for advertising, and is never used to train AI/ML models.

  • Send email on your behalf (gmail.send): Lets the app send payslip emails from your own Gmail account when you click Send. The app cannot read, browse, or delete anything in your mailbox — this permission only allows composing and sending new messages you initiate.
  • View your Google Sheets (spreadsheets.readonly): Lets the app read a Google Sheet you provide a link to, so it can import employee and salary data instead of requiring a manual file upload. The app only reads the specific sheet you open — it does not browse your Google Drive or access any other files.
  • Your name and email address (openid, email, profile): Used to identify your account inside the app and show which Google account is connected.

How We Use Your Information

  • To activate and validate your license
  • To provide customer support
  • To send important product updates and security notifications
  • To improve our application based on anonymous usage data

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your data:

  • AES-256 encryption for stored credentials
  • Secure HTTPS connections for license validation
  • No cloud storage of your sensitive data
  • Regular security audits and updates

Data Retention

  • License and Payment Data: retained for the duration of your subscription and as required by law
  • Local Data: remains entirely under your control on your device
  • Usage Statistics: aggregated and anonymized data retained for up to 12 months
  • Support Communications: retained for 2 years or as needed for service improvement

Data Sharing

We do NOT sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties except:

  • Payment processing through Polar
  • As required by law or legal process
  • To protect our rights or safety

Website Tracking & Consent

The Sheldon Sender marketing website uses Google Analytics through the Google tag to measure content performance and understand visitor journeys before customers download the app or purchase a plan.

  • Website analytics stays disabled by default until you actively enable it in the consent banner.
  • When you decline, Google Analytics remains in the denied state and the website continues to work normally.
  • You can change this choice at any time using the button below or the Tracking Preferences link in the footer.
